Do Parallel Patterns Arise from Parallel Processes?

This is a large collaborative project involving Mike Dawson, Mike Beman, Julian Sachs, Simon HaberleFrancois Blanchette, and Jessica Blois.  We are using marine lakes in Palau as a model for island biogeography and assessing the degree to which parallel processes give rise to parallel patterns in taxonomic, functional, and genetic diversity of microbes and macrobiota.

We are in the process of collecting both modern and paleo data across a number of lakes in Palau. Results will be posted here as they become available!
